15 Simple Things You Can Do Daily to Show Your Kids You Love Them
As a mom, I’m often filled with worry that I’m not providing my little guy all he needs emotionally. Above all else, I just want him to know that he is loved. I came up with this list of 15 simple things that can help make sure we are showing our son that we love him.
Give “just because” gifts
Say what you love about them
Spend some time cuddling and snuggling
Read a book together
Have a dance party
Do something they love together
Leave notes in their lunch
Actively listen to them
Watch and encourage
Show up and be on time
Prepare meals together
Have an activity you do regularly just with them
Go for walk just the two of you
Say “I love you”
Seems simple but saying “I love you” is often overlooked. I’be encountered people that believe that it’s implied or “goes without saying.” There’s that school of thought that I show I love you so that means I do. But deeds and actions can be misunderstood but saying flat out “I love you” says it exactly what it means. I also find this valuable after you have corrected a child’s behavior or had a disagreement. Never underestimate the power of those three words.
