10 Things To Do To Make Sunday Funday

10 Things To Do To Make Sunday Funday

We love Sundays in our house. With our businesses we tend to work on Saturdays. When there aren't gigs, Saturdays are filled with family functions and  kids sporting events. Sundays are the day we are spending the entire day together without interruption. These types of days are important to maintaining a happy relationship.  These activities can also be done right after church service. Here are 10 different ideas on how to spend time with your loved ones on Sundays and make your Sunday Funday.

1. Go for a picnic

This can be done at nearby park or  in your own backyard.  Use items you already have in the house and kitchen. Pack all of your supplies, food and a blanket and head out. Bring games or a book or two to read while enjoying your time outside. Me and my hubby didn't have basket or blanket in the house house so we bought this absolute adorable picnic basket that comes with a blanket and all the tableware at Amazon.

2. Movie Marathon

Gather in living room or bedroom with your favorite snacks and beverages. Everyone gets a turn picking a movie. Spice it up by adding a theme like your favorite movies, scary movies, movies with your favorite actor, or even movies with ridiculous plots. Talking is allowed in this theater.

3. Go for a hike in your State Park

State Parks are meant for the community to enjoy.  Take in the natural wonders that are in your own backyard. Get a good pair of sneakers or hiking boots, pack some snacks, water and bug spray and you are ready for a mini adventure. Some state parks also offer activities like kayaking and fishing. Weather permitting this is another fun and free activity.

4. Game Day

Who isn't up for a little bit of friendly competition? Breakout the Monopoly, Sorry, Dominoes, and deck of cards.  Make it a day filled competition, keeping track of who won each round.  Not into desemating your loved one in a friendly game of Candy Land?  Fair enough, break out that thousand piece puzzle you always wanted to tackle and work on it as a team.

5.  Become Tourists in your hometown

Depending on where you live, Sundays may be the best days to visit local attractions or museums.  I've lived in Philadelphia for a huge portion of my life, and you would be amazed how many natives have never stepped inside the Philadelphia Museum of Art or taken a bus tour.  It's a simple and easy way to spend a Sunday. Explore your city, experience things as a tourist take the cheesy bus tour or go to your towns historical locations.  Experience it as if you are visiting it for the first time.  You will be surprised what you find.  Not sure where  to start?  Try visiting your state's or city's visitor's bureau.

6. Go to a sporting event

9 times out of 10, there is some sort of athletic event going own near your city or town.  Professional or amateur, there is a baseball, football, swimming, or track event.  Cheer own the minor league baseball team or encourage runners in the local marathon.  Pick a team or player and cheer them on to victory.

7. Go to an orchard and pick a fruit or vegetable

Find a local orchard or farm that allows people to pick their own...fill in the blank.  It can be fun and educational.  Picking your own fruit or veggie can be a fun way to spend the day.  You can also come up with a fun new recipe for your freshly picked produce to try when you get home.

8. Go to a winery, or brewery

Many breweries and wineries host tours and tastings.  Spend some adult time exploring a local brewery and winery and learning about the process that brings your favorite beverage to you local shop.  Some wineries also have vineyards you can tour as well.  You can also find some places that offer meals or classes as an added bonus.

9. Cook a 5 course meal

Spend the day preparing the menu, sipping for the items and cooking a decadent meal for just you or invite some friends over.  Create a theme or try new dishes you always wanted to try.  This is one idea I'm definitely going to try soon.  I just found an awesome and easy 5 Course French Meal Menu from The Gingered Whisk, that I'm definitely going to try.

10. Have a Spa Day!

This can be pricey or super cheap, it all depends on how you go about it, either way it's perfect option if you want to relax and refresh before you start the new week.  Spending the day at one local spa and get the works, or you can make a day of going from one location to another  for different treatments (massage at Massage Envy, Mani /Pedi at local nail salon) and stopping for lunch in between.  Another cool way to have this experience is at home. You can use the Soothe App and have a massage therapist come right to your home. You can create your own  spa space in you house with candles, dim lighting, scent machines and spa music. You can even make your own
