Are you feeling discouraged about your New Year’s Resolutions? Well, these five simple steps will make it possible for you to achieving all of your goals.

1. Write down your goals

The first step to achieving your goals is to know what your goals are. So, take some time sit down and write down all of your goals. Having a very long list of goals, however, can be self-defeating. I recommend to limiting it to 3 major goals a year. Three is a more realistic if you accomplish them right away feel free to add more later. Having goals that are attainable is a necessity to achieving

2. Pick one goal at a time

Now that you set your 3 top goals, now its time narrow it down further. Trying to tackle all three at once may work great for some but if you have limited time and a history of quitting, it’s best just to limit it to one at a time. I you are having a hard time picking one, pick the one you feel most likely to succeed at. Once you get one major win under your belt, you have a better chance of accomplishing the rest of your goals.

3. Breakdown goal into smaller steps

The next step is to breakdown you first goal it to bite-size tasks. Decide all the little things you need to complete in order to achieve your larger goal. When you breakdown the goals, you know everything that is necessary to achieve them. A lot of people fail at completely their goals when they encounter a tasks they did not anticipate or simply don’t know where to begin.

4. Start small

Start small and slowly complete each little task at a time. If the goal is something that requires regular commitment to daily tasks, it may be best to just add one daily task at a time. The task becomes a habit, according to research that can be anywhere from 21 to 66 days depending on how difficult the habit. So let’s say you want to lose 10 pounds, but in order to do that you need to reduce calories and log your meals, 30 minutes workout daily, and increase your water intake. Well, you would start with reducing your calories and logging your meals and once that became easy you would then add in the daily workout.

5. Celebrate each milestone

Don’t forget to celebrate your success. You earned it. Any tasks accomplished are step closer to completing your goals. Treat your self or tell friends, whatever way you choose to celebrate your accomplishments - even the little ones.
